I have a general question regarding the dependencies of written code to a database.
Is Hibernate really database independent or do you have to change the code if switch from one database to another?
I know that one have to change the dialect and maybe the driver, but apart from that, are there any problematic areas in which hibernate fails to do its job?

Thanks for any answers.

I have used Hibernate with SQL Server and Netezza both and i do not see any issues in migrating from one DB to other.

Thanks and Regards,
