Hi guyz,

Maybe it is a too basic question.

dot.class file is generated after compilation, but what file is generated after executing the dot.class file?

thank you.

There's no such things "too basic" a question, but this does belong in the Beginner's forum, so I've moved it there.

What makes you think that any file is going to be created after execution?

Compilation necessarily means translating one set of information (source code) into another form (object code; in Java, object code is a class file, or possibly some other form of bytecode). In order to keep track of things, compilers generally take a source file and create a class file of the same name.

Running a program might do that, or it might translate one form into twenty, or not translate anything into anything; what it does depends entirely on what the program was written to do. So there is no equivalent "generation after execution".

Thank you for the information.

But should I conclude that no file or format is created after executing a dot.class file ???

As Ralph said, that depends on what the program was designed to do.
