transaction across web layer and ejb layer

i have a interview question, they asked me, any way to implement transaction across servlet and ejb (the transaction begin from servlet and end with ejb)?

yes it is possible, you ca look up for the transaction from JNDI, start the transaction, invoke ejb and commit it. Also you need to have BMT for your bean
