what is mapped back property?

I skim through couple struts book but just suddenly see the terms "mapped back property" for the first time. I don't think it's been mentioned in other books I read.

"The forms you created so far are non-dynamic (even the DynaActionForm example was mostly static). Action-Forms can use mapped back properties. Mapped back properties have no parallel in the JavaBean world�it is a
Struts invention.To create a mapped back property, declare a �property� in the ActionForm ..."

Seems to be related to DynaActionForm... Is this term common? Or they have other names?

The correct term is map-backed ActionForms and the topic is covered in the Struts User Guide.
