Is it possible to configure "Forum Index" to say something else?

Open WEB-INF/config/languages/en_US.properties (or the language pack you're using) and change the key "ForumListing.forumIndex"

Could I hide the word of "Forum Index"?

As I would like to integrate the forum to my site,
and let the user can see the page of "Recent topic" at once. No need to click "Forum Index".

You can do it by editing various template files. E.g.:

make a copy of the default directory under the template directory. Change your config to point to the new template directory (makes upgrading a lot easier). Then edit the *.htm files to show the navigation you want.

See www.Freemarker.org for info on the template engine syntax.
