Please note your JForum WAR package download is broken.

Instead of containing WEB-INF at the top level it contains a directory called "jforum-2.1.8", which means you can't auto deploy to Tomcat.

Agreed Mark. This is not a valid war file, and would not install onto any servlet container. If the jForum team doesn't want jForum installed directly as a war file, then it'd be better to provide no file than a broken one. (I understand that the app can't run directly from the war, but most servlet containers let you deploy a war file, which it will auto-explode).

I'd enter a Jira bug if the jForum Jira site was working.

Yes, the current jforum-2.1.8 war file is indeed broken and have notified Rafael.

A "short term" fix is to let it deploy, then move the lower 2nd directory up a level (and rename one of the two dirs to something else ...). I just moved the $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/jforum-2.1.8/jforum-2.1.8 dir up a level and renamed it to jforum ($CATALINA_HOME/webapps/jforum).

The problem doesn't effect me, since I CM and deploy remotely. I brought it up out of concern for beginners, and because it gives a bad impression of jForum to more advanced users who look at or try to use the war. It'd be a shame to turn off prospective users from such an excellent product.

I have also noticed that net.jforum.sso.CookieUserSSO.class is missing in source code, zip and war file. Is it intentionally left or it is a mistake?
Could you please add this file back? I need this file as I am integrating my application with jForum..

Thanks
Raghu
