Getting into Android Development - Best Starting Point?

Hiya,
I've been developing with Java (Inc. J2ME) for over ten years and am looking at getting Android development.

What's my best route? Is it learning something like Phone Gap or Titanium (as I already have HTML and CSS skills, and like the idea of creating iOS apps too), or would it be more beneficial to learn the Android-specific Java, or both even?

And is there any particular book or programme anyone could recommend?

The faq page has a list of books which should help you, but among the list i have read Reto Meier's book and feel that it's a great book to begin with as for frameworks used for creating Cross platform Apps, I've learned from the guys who worked with these frameworks is that the code doesn't build well, So you spend a lot of time debugging the code anyways the benefits learning native platform outweigh the cross platform frameworks. However. if you go for cross platform frameworks do let us know your experiences.

There should not be any difficulty for you to get into android development.......
