Hi All,

All the Linux OS have moved from Sun JDK to OPenJDK.Is there any specific reason for it?

I am trying to know if there is any extra licensing required to use Oracle JDK on CentOS?

My system administrator told me that OPEN JDK is a default JDK on CENTOS and for Sun JDK we require to get some licenses from Oracle.

It is true because I could not find any thing like that on Oracle website so far.License agreement provided with ORACLE JDK e is too confusing and complication with all those legal jargon..

Please help me

Thanks in advance.

As far as I understand, it's not the license fees you as a user would need to pay but the license fees RedHat / Canonical etc would have to pay as distributors.
