Hi folks,

I am working in one of the leading IT services company in India for the last 3 years. Recently I got an offer from a small product company with less than 100 employees. This is a US based company and their product is ranked among the best in the world in that particular field.

I am a technically oriented person and so found this new opportunity more attractive compared to my present job.

I wold like to know your comments about moving to a small product based company and how it will impact my career ahead. Also, will it be easy for me to switch back to a service based company after 1-2 years, if this new company is not really up to my expectations.

Thank you!

You will probably encounter the following

* A steep learning curve
* Lots of hours at work
* Little or no office politics

will it be easy for me to switch back to a service based company after 1-2 years

Yes that should be possible. I dont see any reason why you would be any less employable because you chose to work at a small company.

Go with an open mind and see what pans out. You might learn more and fast track your career.
