Hello, I took the exam today and passed it with a decent score(89%).

I was kind of shocked to see that the passing marking(not my score) on the score report was 60%, not 73% as it's stated in Oracle's official website: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=5001&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-895&p_org_id=1001&lang=US

Also, they recently changed how they showed the exam score.

It does not show right after the exam anymore, you have to wait about 30 mintues(in my case, I had to wait about 2 hours) and you have to go to oracle.com to see the score.

I hope this helps someone.

Thanks.

Hi Darren,

Congratulations!!

Interesting: I did the exam last month and on my score report the passing score of 73% was mentioned and furthermore I didn't have to wait for the results as they were shown immediately on the screen.....

Frits

No of questions is only 60. Have you noticed correctly. Please check once again and confirm it...

Thank you for congrats.

I am not sure if I am allowed to post links here but this is a jpg file of the score report. I hid most of the information except the passing score.

ScoreReport

Please be advised, the Oracle website clearly says they can change the passing mark anytime... it might have been changed back to 73% already!

Congratulations Darren!

You have not shared how you prepared for this exam. What books did you read? Which mock exams did you take? Does the exam require some knowledge of ejb 2.x? Is there anything jpa/orm related on the exam? I am reading manning's ejb 3 in action by debu, reza & derek, can you recommend this book? Further i've ordered and awaiting oreily's enterprise java beans 3.1 programming by andrew lee rubinger, packt's ejb 3.1 cookbook by richard m. reese. I've also downloaded a copy of the ejb 3.1 spec but it has tons of data from previous ejb versions. Is this sufficient to pass the exam and perhaps match your score?

Bell.

Darren,

Are you sure about passing score? I just had a look at website for my country(Oracle has separate country-wise websites) and found that number of questions are 60, and passing score is 73%.

Frits,

I'm just going through your notes and those are really nice

Hi Anayonkar Shivalkar,

Thanks, my goal was to summarize all the important topics needed for the certification. I left out a lot of stuff about previous EJB-versions and I meanly focussed on the specifications itself. I have added coding-examples and graphs to make it easier to understand (at least I hope I did )

If you have any remarks, please don't hesitate to send them to me.

Regards,
Frits

Hi everyone,

Can anyone else confirm this? A friend of mine did this exame last December at it said passing score: 60% on his report and now I was doing an Enthuawere´s test and I got less that 73% and it says Passed!

Thanks!

On the official Oracle site it clearly states 73% (Oracle EJB Cert)

I know that but maybe is not updated on the website. So why the enthuware test would have a different passing %? And the report of my friend would say 60%?

it used to be 60% and that is why maybe Enthuware still is using the 60% as a passing score. The official Oracle site was recently updated to 73%, but they can change that passing percentage everyday.....
Just have chat with the Oracle guys if you want to be sure.

Frits

Ok, I posted a message on enthuware forum so maybe they will respond soon, I will try to see with oracle as well to be sure.
I have another friend that is going to do the exame in 2 weeks, I'll ask him what say in his report.

Thanks

They recently changed it to 73%. We have updated our question bank as well now.
