This is sort of like "what is the sound of one hand clapping?".

It is a (possibly) interesting discussion, but there isn't any real answer I'm aware of.

First, what do you mean by "an empty class"? Every class has something in it, since they all derive from the Object class. There are ten or so methods defined there. Do you count the space needed for those methods?
