Folks,

I have given my OCAJP 7 exam today and passed with a score of 81%.

I had an experience of 1.5 years on java 7 prior to this and it required me prepare for 1.5 months in overall. I used docs.oracle.com, Mala Gupta study guide, OCAJP 7 certification guide and Programmer's guide to SCJP 3rd edition (Nevertheless, the concept is the same. ). I did well in the 12 mock exams from Enthuware and Whizlabs and scored an average of 85.

I felt the exam with 70 questions pattern was a little tougher than what I did see in all the mock exams. May be the nervousness in the real exam has got better of me and may be that is why I managed to score 81%. But anyway, I feel relaxed and sleep tight now only to resume my business as usual from tomorrow morning. Next target is OCPJP 7 and this might just take a little time.

By the way, let me introduce myself. I am an automation test engineer with an experience in tcl, perl, java and unix.

Do well in your exams folks.

Cheers
Satya

Congratulations, champion!

Thanks for sharing your experience with the "new" 70 questions format.

Good luck with OCPJP7! It will definitely take more time than the OCAJP7. You'll need to know a bunch of advanced topics like threading, concurrency, resourcebundles, nio2.0, jdbc, generics, collections and many more.

Don't forget to add your name to the OcajpWallOfFame.

It's a wiki-page, so you can just click the Edit-button on top, provide your CodeRanch credentials and add your name.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
