in struts2, in jsp file, i didn't use <s:actionerror />

how it is possible?
is this tag not required?

Are they action errors or field errors? Field errors caused by validation are displayed by the field tags (see here).

later I found that, validation.xml is a client-side validation doesn't require to include <s:actionerror />

Validation is usually server-side unless specifically configured to be client side. Server-side validation creates field errors that are handled by the Struts field tags. That's why you don't need the actionerror tag. Client-side validation is performed with JavaScript.
