Kindle to PDF converter

Did anyone try this? I would like to convert some of my books in Kindle to a pdf. Any suggestions on how to do this?

I've used Calibre for conversions before. http://calibre-ebook.com

From their FAQ:

Input Formats: CBZ, CBR, CBC, CHM, DJVU, DOCX, EPUB, FB2, HTML, HTMLZ, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC, PDB, PML, RB, RTF, SNB, TCR, TXT, TXTZ
Output Formats: AZW3, EPUB, FB2, OEB, LIT, LRF, MOBI, HTMLZ, PDB, PML, RB, PDF, RTF, SNB, TCR, TXT, TXTZ

I'm not sure the file format version you would get from your Kindle, though. I use it more for going the other way - converting from PDF.

I will check for the file formats on my Kindle. But where do I find the files that are in my Kindle?

I've heard about DRM. How can I remove it so that I can convert Kindle files to PDF? It really sucks reading with my Kindle.

No idea. Removing DRM smells of copyright violation in most countries.

You could always get a Kindle reader for your Mac or PC (Amazon give the software away for free). That way you won't have to worry about converting.

There are Kindle readers for just about every device under the sun. What is the reason that you want to convert them? Is it because that the Kindle format isn't all that great for technical books with figures and code? If so, you won't gain much from conversion -- it'll just be the same crappy layout except in PDF format. If you want the tech books in PDF format that mimics the layout of the printed versions you'll need to buy them as PDFs in the first place.

I found the Kindle approach too restrictive (like charging a fee to get PDFs from other sources on the device), so I stuck to getting PDFs for reading on a 7" Android tablet. The Kindle sounds like a better device for reading, but the tablet/PDF approach works well for me, and it's one fewer device. Obviously, YMMV.
