I'd love to go - Scala + Amsterdam, what's not to like? Unfortunately I just got back from a Hadoop conference in London so I think my boss would prefer I spent some time doing actual work in the office for a change!

Where was that Hadoop conference? Are you talking about the ApacheCon?

I'm at the conference. One of my dreams of attending Martin Oedersky's talk has been fulfilled! Unlike previous Scala days, this time around his talk was more focussed on the evolution of Scala as a language and Scala.js being targeted as a platform analogous to the JVM. I will post my Scala Days experience in a separate thread. Overall it is a wonderful experience connecting with so many tech enthusiasts. Looks like Scala is no more a niche skill!
