I am really happy to have a chance to ask Herbert Schildt about his new book - I learnt
Java reading one of his books years ago - and at the same time I am almost sorry to ask this question ( I know, it looks like a bit nasty), but I would really love to hear from the author why nowadays it would be worth learning Java FX. Here on coderanch, most of times I read that desktop applications are dead - and this makes me sad, really - and because Java FX does not run natively in any browser - it requires a Java runtime - I wonder if it is not practically a revamped
Applet technology...
