According to the Oracle blog site here, they are finally retiring Java SE/EE 5 certifications

Nope the current OCMJD is not affected.

If i take the EE5 exam now and if i got certify then will my credentials will expire too? Reply ASAP.

These certifications never expire. There was only one I heard of, from Sun/Oracle that did. That was the Java Programmer 1.4. But they sort of rescinded that expiry. So, ironically, you could take it on the last day before its retirement, and it would still be the same.

I for one am glad they are retiring these things. I think it would be rather sad for someone to have to learn a lot of obsolete material. However, someone on one of these forums was taking an older certification just to avoid the course requirements. So, that opportunity could be going away, too.

They also retired the mobile exam - which makes sense. It's about time to admit that is irrelevant at this point. Mobile is done in Android if you are using Java. That was in the announcement, it just didn't catch attention.

You are eligible for any Java EE developer certs. Since the v5 exams retired, you have to go with the v6 exams (OCEWSD, OCEEJBD, etc)
