As an evaluation, I recently deployed JBoss portal on JBoss application server with MySQL as database and everything seems to work just fine. Best part is, everything is open source(FREE). It was easy to get everything working.
I used to work with Tomcat before, but as JBoss can do what Tomcat can do and much more(EJB container etc,.), I started using JBoss.
Currently I am working on another project and thinking of deploying it on JBoss again. I think I am now ready to read about JBoss.

Sorry, that was an inside joke there. I'm glad you are finding the portal useful. We don't talk about portal, or other parts of JEMS (JBoss Enterprise Middleware System) in the book. Maybe someone needs to step up and write a JBoss Portal book?
