What do we mean by nodes? is it means different machines configured in clustered enviornment or does it means different JVMs configured in single appserver?

Nitin,

"Node" is not a JBoss specific term. It depends on how it is being used. It can either be a different server instance on the same system or maybe an different system altogether.

Thanks jaipai,

It was not specific to jboss but related to appserver so i putted here my question.
Now my question is what do we mean by different instance? is it means different JVM instances in appserver or different location of appserver?

I hope i am not asking too much in discussion but this was my actual doubt.

Regards,
Nitin

A application server runs in a JVM instance. The server instances (with each instance having a separate JVM) can be running on the same system or on a totally different system.
