I wanted to know
What all quality book's are there currently available for Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 (CX-310-055) exam???


From this forum, I know that

SCJP Sun Certified Programmer for Java 5 Study Guide (Exam 310-055) BOOK by Katherine Sierra, Bert Bates will be out soon !!!

Can please someone tell me how long will it take for this book to release in India???

And lastly the important question that

A Programmer's Guide to Java Certification: A Comprehesive Primer, Second Edition by Khalid Mughal, Rolf Rasmussen

Is Mr.Khalid Mughal going to release a book on this new exam?
If yes, WHEN???

I attended Mughal's presentation "Cracking the New Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform 1.5 Exam" at the JavaZone conference in Oslo a month ago. He is working on a new 5.0 version of the book, but he had no date. "Sometime early 2006" was about as precise as he could get.

I just asked mr Mughal the very same question by email. His reply was that it probably would not be ready until the second half of 2006. Before that, they will publish some material on the web site that should be enough to pass the 1.5 exam.

Hi Pramod ... I was also searching markets n links for the books on SCJP5.0.. now i know that waiting for heller book wud take too long and the book by the bert bates n sierra is stiil in pub with McGraw-hill n won't be out before feb.

n Since u r in india.. i belive .. so it'll still be late till it comes in mkts ....

now im in a dilemma to go for 1.5 or get it with 1.4...
