Hello everyone.
Im extremely pleased to inform u ppl that just an hour ago i cleared 486 with 81%
It feels gr8.
im 19 yrs old and study comp eng.(2nd yr) in a univ in karachi ,hence absolutely no experience of OOA&D.Just had Larman and Fowler to help me out.
The worst thing abt the test was that i had to give it on a monitor barely 14"(it seemed more like 12" to me) and diagrams seemed so big and it was really difficult to understand them.
My advice to all u guys who intend to give 486 is that Larman and Fowler r quite sufficient i read them thrice each and gave the ICE test 5 times.scores were 73,63,73,63,86. Then the night b4 the exam i looked into this forum and tried to understand the rite answers.
It feels gr8 to have passed this test.SCJP and WCD seem so easy as compared to this one.
As far as the time factor is considered, for me it was a bit of a prob becuz of the small screen and constant switching b/w exhibits, but otherwise its sufficient.
Ask for atleast a 17" monitor.
If u ppl have any qs id be glad to help
Thank u all for ure help
SCJP(89%)
WCD(83%)
and now
IBM 486 (81%)

i studied almost 3 weeks for the exam, and as far as the studying material is considered i think that Larman and Fowler are quite sufficient.
Read Larman and Fowler again and again until u know exactly what to do in a particular scenario(i read both of them 3 times).
Larman has explained everything very nicley u just have to understand it thouroughly and apply the techniques correctly on the scenario given in the exam.
Hope this helps if u have any other qs pls feel free to ask
Best of Luck

The read-Fowler/Larman again-and-again tip seems to me the pass-the-486 pattern.
Everybody who clears the test says this.
Have read both books and I am afraid that this will be boring. But, perhaps it isn't.
In every case both books changed the way I view my job.
Will give it a try next year.
