Forgot my own question. Are you still seeing new implementations leverage this -- obviously could -- or are folks mostly using as a bridge during application modernization initiatives?  I was surprised to see that beefed up with 2.1.
I'll queue up a softball.  Stored procs exist, and JPA 2.1 add first class support via @NamedStoredProcedureQuery.

As an aside, the promotional pricing of $2.99 for the Kindle version of the book on Amazon is a great deal.

Thanks for including these tips:  How to map an enum to a column and How to use a generated UUID as a primary key.
What are some best practices on ways to monitor the overall health of the container (e.g. pools, JNDI, EJBs, etc.)?

Chris, it seems like these two projects come head-to-head a lot. I've noticed from other threads that you've tried to incorporate conversation on both in your book. Thoughts on the key criteria when one makes a lot more sense than the other based on your experiences?
Does the new book mention anything about sychronizing the DOM on the server to try to retain that aspect of server-side computing that Ajax/JS sorta take away?

Any general thougths on whether a product like ICEfaces will have market traction over the long run, or are people sticking to the traditional model of Ajax?

Reality is he is probably just updating it for newer exams. The original book was published several years ago. Of course, I have zero knowledge that that is the case, and without hearing from the author, the publisher, or someone who knows either, you probably won't get much of an answer. Telling people to wait to buy the next version hurts sales of the original version.

The real question is when will Sun update the exams (SCEA, SCBCD) to reflect EJB 3.0 and the newer specs.
That's a valuable list of mock exam links. Thanks, congrats, and good luck with Part II.
