right, if you are a professional developer, you are half good QA testing engineer. you could be a good white box test engineer if you wanna exchange the job.

i think that you asked the question is a black box testing.
maybe you can test it with 6 step:
1. UI testing
2. function testing
3. interface testing
4. compatibility testing
5. load and pressure testing
6. security testing

now, i am a fresh tester(black box testing), but i also have to write testing requirements, testing plan and testing case. it is hard to me, i just do the job 3 month. so i have lost at the problem.

i have new question, what is the main different from QA and QC?
one is assurance and other is control. in my opinion, with the verbatim meaning, they are the same job.

this is a difficult question, although the question seems to be easy.
if you wanna be a good java programmer, you have to practise and read some more books about the question that you dont solve at work.
i collected some java books, this is a list:

1.Core Java 2 Volume I - Fundamentals, Seventh Edition.chm
2.Core Java 2 Volume II - Advanced Features, Seventh Edition.chm
3.corejava.sourcecode.zip
4.(ebook - HTML) JBoss and PostgreSQL.rar
5.(Ebook - Pdf - Java) O'Reilly - J2Me In A Nutshell - Decrypted.pdf
6.(ebook - PDF) JBoss Group - JBoss All Docs Subscription.zip
7.(ebook - PDF) JBoss Server Development with Eclipse.pdf
8.(eBook) JavaServer Pages - Examples (O'Reilly).zip
9.(ebook) O'Reilly - Java 3d Programming.pdf
10.(ebook-pdf) - O'Reilly - Java NIO.pdf
11.(O'Reilly) - Core JSP.pdf
and more...........................

wish they can help you, this is my email: jerryVonWerder@drivehq.com

thanks all!
after i read your post. i think the concept of QA is larger than testing.
QA is a team to improve the software quality and make sure that the software can suit client requirement. and testing is a member who find and report the bug at software.
this is my opinion, is it right?

thanks a lot
