Our client is a well-established Financial Institution located in Vancouver, BC. They are currently seeking an Intermediate Java Developer for web banking projects. As the successful candidate, you have a university degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent and minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in software engineering, working mainly with Enterprise Java. You are experienced in the analysis and development of one or more moderately complex applications using an object-oriented methodology.

You have thorough knowledge and understanding of methods, standards and best practices with respect to software development. You are an analytical thinker with strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills. You communicate effectively both orally and in writing with technical teams and other co-workers, work to schedules, and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs. You thrive in a team environment juggling multiple projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, write codes and completes programming following detailed specifications.
  • Carry out testing and debugging of applications.
  • Comply with established development guidelines and standards.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications and develop and document designs that meet applicable standards and identify, analyze and resolves software inadequacies.
  • Assist in the analysis of systems specifications and in developing and documenting designs that meet requirement standards.
  • Participate in product design meetings.
  • Assist in establishing project schedules.
  • Provide input for Technical Writing department to produce documentation for product.
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and prepare simulation and evaluation plans to ensure that designs meet specification.
  • Participate in code and design reviews.
