I even logged a complaint to Prometric, but they keep on ignoring me / telling me the same invalid instructions (to log into my Prometric website and check my history) again and again.

I wonder if anybody knows the contact details for the finance department of Prometric? I want to get them to issue me a receipt.
Hi guys,

Was wondering if any of you guys took the part 2 when it was still with Prometric. For myself, when I completed the online part 2, two-hour "exam", I was not sent an email receipt. Now, I am trying to get my receipt in order to claim my certification fees from my company. I have tried to get it from Prometric, but they kept on trying to divert me to Oracle, and Oracle does the same. I can't log into the IBT website which I used to take part 2 earlier, as it seems to have been deactivated.

Did anyone in a similar predicament get their receipt for part 2?

I have finally achieved the OCMJEA 5 (Dreamcar assignment) certification. Here are the significant milestones in my journey:

09-MAY-11 - Took the part 1 exam, passed.
25-AUG-11 - Submitted the part 2 assignment.
26-AUG-11 - Took the part 3 essay.
04-DEC-11 - Received email informing that I failed part 2. My overall marks exceeded the minimum score but I failed in my class and deployment diagrams.
01-JAN-12 - Resubmitted part 2 assignment.
23-FEB-12 - Received passing score report at Pearson Vue's website.

It was a long and tough journey, but in the end, I believe was all worth it.

How long did you have to wait for the results of your resubmission?

Did you specify kind of the EJB beans like @stateless, @Entity ??

Yes, I did specify the annotations required (e.g. @Stateless, @Stateful, @MessageDriven, @Entity, @Local). Although I did put in those annotations directly beside the class name (e.g. XXXSessionBean @Stateless).
Hi guys,

I am preparing for my OCMJEA part 2 (Dreamcar assignment) resubmission. I failed my class and deployment diagrams. I would really appreciate it if I could get some feedback on the following:

Class diagrams (25/40)
  • missing ejb/explanation class-level details
  • - I am not sure what this means; I did display my EJB/MDB annotations using UML comments. Any suggestions on what else is there to display?
  • missing presentation-tier components
  • - Because I am using Seam (EJB and JSF), I did not create any JSF classes, as they are automatically handled by the Seam framework itself. Could this be the reason why I lost marks?
  • missing inter-class relationships
  • - I did draw association and aggregation / composition links between classes, I'm not sure what else is required.

    Deployment diagram (13/24)
  • missing complete platform profile details such as web/app server, OS, RDBMS, etc.
  • - I provided basic hardware configurations such as operating system, memory, hard disk, JDK. Anything else I should be including?
  • missing cluster(s) deployment details
  • - I am not sure what this refers to. Is it enough to draw my diagram in such a way that if a particular resource is clustered, I just use the 1..* multiplicity? Or should I draw multiple nodes to emphasize the fact that it is clustered?
  • missing details for integration tier
  • - I believe this is due to the fact that I omitted the legacy system from the deployment diagram.
  • more detail required (very high-level deployment diagram shown)
  • - At this point, I'm not sure what level of detail is required overall (I was referring to Cade's book for the deployment diagram). Perhaps someone can furnish me with a sample UML deployment diagram that is deemed detailed enough by the assignment's standards?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    Hi guys,

I received an email this morning stating that I failed my SCEA (Dreamcar). Here is my assignment breakdown:

  • Questions - 24/24
  • Class diagram - 25/40
  • Component diagram - 35/40
  • Deployment diagram - 13/24
  • Interaction diagram - 10/16
  • Technical risks - 14/16

  • My overall marks was 121, and I failed even though the passing mark is 114. I read in this forums that I do not need to rework those parts which I did not fail, but the problem is that I do not know which sections I failed in (it was not stated in the report). Can anybody help me out?

    Thanks!
Congrats! I took the same assignment as you, and did the essay on the 26th of August.

However, I have yet to receive any email concerning the delay in grading my assignment, should I attempt to email them?

I took my essay on the 26th of August (Dreamcar assignment) and I still haven't received the email yet.
Just an update, architect-submit_US@oracle.com replied me today, and I am very thankful to them for giving to me the voucher code in time. I hope that everyone who was in the same predicament as me will get theirs soon as well.
It is very disheartening that we, certification seekers have to pay the consequences for their slow responses. Oracle should grant those of us who tried to submit the assignment before the 27th additional time, as this isn't our fault at all - how was I supposed to know that I need to upload the assignment via Pearson (I bought my assignment via Prometric), and that I need to request a voucher, which may take 5 business days to respond? Combined with the fact that I cannot take Part 3 without submitting it via Pearson, and that I need to schedule Part 3 at least 24 hours prior, t is very difficult for me to make the deadline.

the day after, i recieved an email from architect-submit_US@oracle.com telling me they had contacted Parseons and solved the issue. I have just scheduled the third part sucessfully.

Jiafan Zhou. regarding the voucher to the 1Z0-848 exam (part 2 transition from prometric), i remember giving them a screen capture i had made after the payment of the 2 part, with prometric.

    Regards

hmmm.... I didn't take that screenshot of that transaction. From now on, I think I should take all the screenshots of any payment just in case such thing happens. I have contacted the Prometric and they couldn't solve that issue either. My last resort will be going to bank and have them printed the credit card transaction for my payment to part2. I really hope to have this solved soon so that I can take the exam. I think solving this issue is more difficult than the exam itself, er~~~

Some updates on this. I have received the voucher this morning by the OCP team (nice...) and tried to upload the assignment. However, I failed to do so. While uploading the jar, the whole page seemed frozen and after waiting for around 15 minutes, I refreshed the page and finally the page exits without any warnings. After trying to login again by using the same voucher, it mentioned that the voucher had been used for once. Crap....

I have contacted OCP for this issue and hopefully this time I will not wait for another week. I guess to be an architect, I also need to deal with all these stuffs.

The jar file I was uploading was around 2.8 MB in size, I investigated and it seemed that I can reduce the jar file by reducing the size of images, which I should have done in the first place. Eventually, I reduced all the png files using GIMP and jar file is now around 980 KB. Hopefully this time I can upload this jar file successfully. Unlucky me... I was planning to do the exam 2 weeks ago, but now I am still stuck at part2 trying to upload the assignment.

I will update this thread with my latest status.

    Jiafan,

How long was the response time from when you sent them a request for the voucher, to the time you received the voucher? I sent them a request earlier today but I am very anxious as they may require up to 5 working days for a response. I already finished my assignment but I am afraid that I can't make the deadline in time due to this. I wonder if I can just purchase another assignment as a last resort (but they might give me another assignment, can I submit an assignment which was not assigned to me?).
