There are two ways you can represent your component diagram, viz
[1] Have one component diagram per use case, so it will be 3 or 4 depending on number of use cases(Refer worked out example in Mark Cade and Simon ).
[2] One component diagram for all usecases ( Refer chapter 9 of Cade and Sheil book ).

In fact, I have done both versions in my assignment.

Bottomline, does not matter whether you use 1 or 2 or both in the above, you should clearly seggregate the Tiers/Layers, if you use color for your diagram, then clearly state color coding explanation ( suggestion by cade and sheil in chapter 9).
Sid,

I dont think, you will need to submit the deployment diagram again, as you just cleared right 17/24, is the minimum, I think, it is one area, where everybody struggle to score well to take advantage.
Your class diagram looks fine 35/40. Rest of the sections you may have to focus, as you need minimum of 12 more marks.

If you share little more detail on other sections of your score, probably others in forum too can suggest the areas to focus for re-submission.

I dont have much information on what all needs to be submitted for re-submission.

Thanks,
Ganesh.
My Few Cents :

As the instruction in the assignment says, you will need to use Java/JEE components in design. So best choice for business tier would be EJBs and for intergration tier would be DAOs specifically for communication to external systems.
For DB, its at your own discretion/ design choice.
Your architecture should be N-Tier based clearly calling out the JEE components being used in the individual tiers, using design patterns as best/standard practices. As far as possible, try to follow n-tier architecture in all diagrams including class, component, deployment and sequence.

In addition to the above, I have provided notes for all diagrams and extensive explanation on sequence diagrams depicting detailed technical flow for each use case, ie. one sequence diagram per use case ( as per cade and humphery sheil suggestion in chapter 9 of their book )

Hope this helps!!!
I got it in 2 weeks. You might want to check the certification creation date in certview website, and shipping detail, that might give some indication.
For me, from the create date it was 2 weeks.

All the Best!!!

I didnt receive yet any email from Oracle, but i logged today into the pearson vue account both second and third part have status TAKEN. Anyhow when i clicked on part 2 score report i see the score (141) and status is PASSED. Does it means that i have passed?

You can assume, that you have passed, but just to confirm, you might want to check, certview site : https://certview.oracle.com to confirm it.

But I would say, you have passed.

Congrats!!!
It is sad to know your result, neverthless, I think, you can try that, sending an email to them, and see if it helps. I would suggest, you could mention not to count it as submission, just to be safe.

BTW, how much is your total, and how much did you get in deployment diagram, because they too decide your re-submission parameters...

Congrats Ganesh!!

Even I saw the same thing between "vue" and "certview" and I'm waiting for 1% mail.
So, in your postal mail, did you get score card in it? and did the mark you received in postal mail and mark displayed in the PDF in the "vue" site matched?

In the Postal MAIL, I received a cover letter stating same Congratulations information which is there in the Score Report PDF(downloadable from vue site). Additionally, it gave info, about where I can more information on technology updates, oracle blogs which I can subscribe, and oracle forums to keep myself aware of latest updates etc....

Then there is a certificate signed by SVP, and a card(like an ATM/Credit card) displaying my name, Oracle Certified JEE5 Architect(something like that, I dont remember exact wording here).

The above there were in the email(Cover letter,Certificate and a Card) were in the MAIL, thats it.. no score report etc...

Just to add, In certview site, under "Success Kit Status" tab, in Request Type, it is "1st Shipment" and Created date it is "01-OCT-11".
And I got my postmail in 17 days.

HTH,
Ganesh.

I have received the OCMJEA Certification Kit by MAIL on Oct 18, 2011.
When I was checking the status accidently in PearsonVue website on Oct 5th, I came to know, I PASSED.
Verified in Oracle Certview website in the same day and confirmed it, as my certification details were appearing in the website.

BTW, I am yet to receive the 1% congratulations email from Oracle. does not matter, I have hard copy of certification now...

So If any of you guys did not receive Congratulations email from Oracle, however if you could see score report in PearsonVue site and in Oracle certification view site(certview.oracle.com), then you should be good.

Many Thanks Again for Java Ranches for great help through out this Architect certification journey, especially this forum was really helpful for my step2 assignment.

Details :

1. Assignment Upload : 16-Sep-11
2. Essay Exam : 17-Sep-11
3. Score Report in PearsonVue : 05-Oct-11 ( may be this is visible earlier than 5th Oct, could be on 3rd or 4th, I did not check)
4. Certification View Website : 05-Oct-11
5. Certification Kit by MAIL : 18-Oct-11

Thank You All Again!!!

Warm Regards,
Ganesh.

Lyju! You are Welcome!

BTW, what is your assigment, just curious to know...
What I would think on this is, probably looking at the volume of submissions happened in the last two months, especially last month, oracle would have temporarily recruited few folks(may be consultants), to handle/manage/expedite the evaluvation. Apparently, folks who submitted the assignment in the month of Sep got assigned to evaluvation to new recruits and (assume)they were dedicated for this evaluvation with target to close everyday. Those assignments which were submitted two or more months earlier may be need to be re-assigned/distributed with load-balancing(!!!) mechanism...
This is just my guess/thought....

Viggo Navarsete wrote:I also had the Big Smokes assignment. Could it be that all delayed results are from the Big Smokes assignment?

I had Big Smoke Cigar Assignment and was graded/evualuated in 2 weeks time. Acutally, I am yet to get the 1% email from Oracle, however I was checking the pearsonvue site on 4th of Oct, and the score report said "PASS". Then I verified in Oracle Cert View site as well on the same day(4th), and I could see my certification details, so I was convinced I Passed!!!
In CertView site, the certification creation date was 1st Oct.
Just as an FYI, I uploaded my assignment on 16th Sep and did my Essay on 17th Sep.

Then on 6th Oct, I got the below email from ITS Support.

From: "ITS Support" <support@testsys.com>
Date: October 6, 2011 5:02:43 PM EDT
To: "SUN Exam Participant" <My Gmail Id>
Subject: SUN - Score Report Available

Good news! You have a test score entered at http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle for an Oracle Master Certification exam. Please follow the link to your account on the Pearson VUE system to view your test score. Please be sure to review the score via your submitted assignment. (Your essay does not get scored and will retain a grade of “Taken”.) Please allow up to 72 hours for your assignment grade to display in CertView.Oracle.com.

Hope this provides some pointers.
