Thanks for both of your replies. Yes, the strategy approach does clear up the concept a bit for me. I will look into the sun article as well.
Thanks!
thanks for your totally uninformative answer...
Hello,
I have been studying for the SCEA exam and don't really understand the Abstract factory pattern... I understand that it is used to create groups of objects - and I understand what a factory pattern is, but what is an 'abstract factory'? Could you give me a decent example of how you would use one as well?
thanks!

Hey guys,
Keep on learning! I found that the JAVA market was a hard one to get into myself, but it is a great field to be in once you're in. Don't keep yourself in one corner - learn a little C#,PLSQL,and basic unix commands too.
I volunteered for a non-profit to help in their enterprise development just to get something on my resume after I got layed off from IBM. You may want to get involved in an open-source project or something like that as well...

Hi,
I'm using Codewarrior 8.3 and its codecompletion was really helpful until I figured out it wasn't using java 1.4 while trying to use newer features. Also, when i use newer features it won't compile my java files anymore. Right now I'm using my trusty console to compile and run my programs.
I was wondering if anyone else was using Codewarrior and has experienced the same problem and found a solution?
Thanks in advance

I user Jdeveloper 9.0.3 and had a similar problem. You will have to configure your ide to use the 1.4 installation located in /System/Frameworks/JavaVM*/1.4.1...

Hello,
I have been doing 1099 work off and on for the past 3 years and would like to get into it full-time. Are there any trusted telecommute or 1099 resources besides using these blood-sucking recruiters?
regards,
