I am not Mark but IMHO I believe SCA/SDO slowley started taking traction in the market and will be a success story.

Thanks for your answers Mark!

I like the way you said i.e. start with WSDL to design and document SOA servicesbut in reality thats not what most of SOA integrations projects are following . especially those with existing deeply coupled architecture projects .. . at least thats my observation being living and breathing at clients.

General tendency is to quickly turn existing components into exposable services and sign off so called SOA certification!!

Wondering if your book covers Enterprise Service Bus and its top five ( or 10) pit views to be useful for real time clients.

Thanks,

Mark - Wondering if you have covered any on Web 2.0 in your book? If so I am very much interested to know your view of Web 2.0 evolution with SOA.

Thanks,

Along with SOA definition, I am very much interested to know how you go about describing various chapters in your book to match your definition. As often times I have seen SOA definition deviating from actual description of the content in one or the other way.

Wondering if your book covers any thing on best practices in designing and implementing critical Infrastructure to meet SOA service requirements.

Wondering if you have described any architectural best practices in your book for clients who are planning to move on to SOA and have deeply coupled architecture across the board especially with acquisitions.

Thanks,

If you are at WAS v 6.0 then I recommend you to upgrade to WAS v 6.0.2.x as many fixes went into Refresh Pack 2 regarding web server and plug-in behavior.

Hm..... I am confused!!!

Do you think what you are doing is even supported by IBM i.e. deploying applications from Eclipse 3.2 to WAS?? I don't think so!!!

Having said that if you are using WAS v6.x.x then I would recommend you to use Application Server Tookkit which is delivered for free with WAS software.

Did you generated the plug-in file after installing/configuring your HTTP Server? If not pl. do so..... also myake sure you have your app. server virtual hosts match with what you are expecting to use.

Pl. check WebSphere InfoCenter for plethora of info. @ http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v5r1/index.jsp

Here is the copy/paste from other post where I answered very similar Q.

*********
If you are at WAS v 6.0.0.1 and wanted to be at v 6.0.2.13 then pl. do following:

1. Install Refresh Pack 2 from http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg24009813 for your respective platform.

Make sure to download "32-bit x86 AMD/Intel AppServer"

There are several other things like plug-in fix LB fix etc.... which you need to use based upon your need.....anyway.

2. Install Fix Pack 13 from http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg24012929 for your respective platform.

Again make sure to download "32-bit x86 AMD/Intel AppServer"

*********

Hope this helps.

Not sure what/how you are doing but just would like to give you heads up that adapters i.e. RAR files can ONLY be deployed to NODES but NOT to clusters.

Sure!!

From command line, simply go into WAS profile root/bin and run versionInfo.bat

Ex. C:\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\bin\versionInfo.bat

You don't need to upgrade the profile exclusively.......
