JSTL URI Not Resolved   

If you are getting the error (or similar):

The absolute uri: cannot be resolved 

Chances are the problem is one of:

  • You forgot to put the JSTL jar files (there are usually two) in WEB-INF/lib.
  • You are using the wrong URI (such as the outdated:
  • You tried to declare it in web.xml, which is no longer necessary, and that's fouling things up.
