WRITING LIKE THIS!!! DOES NOT!!! MAKE PEOPLE!!! WANT TO ANSWER YOUR!!! QUESTIONS!!! IN FACT,!!! IT'S RATHER ANNOYING!!! TO READ!!! AND VERY!!! FEW PEOPLE WILL!!! BOTHER TO READ A POST!!! THAT LOOKS LIKE!!! THIS!!!

Writing ALL-CAPS or using lots of BOLD TYPE is considered to be shouting on the internet - and seriously, who likes to be shouted at? It also makes a post (or even a subject line) much harder to read, and that is the last thing you should do to your questions if you want others to take the time to read and answer them. Another thing that can count as shouting is coloring the text. Doesn't this look dreadful. [Doesn't this look dreadful.] What is more, some people can only read certain colors, and they have their browser set to render text in such a color. If you color the post, such people can't change the color and can't read what you wrote.

(Test: did you actually fully read the first paragraph, or did you skip to the second one?)

Some people leave the caps lock button down because it's easier than reaching for the shift key when starting a new sentence or typing a proper noun. This tells people that you aren't willing to ShowSomeEffort when asking them a question. Many will respond by showing no effort toward helping you solve it.

Similarly, using size 18 font is also shouting, as is using multiple exclamation marks.
