Hi,

I have 6 years of experience in Java J2EE programming and certifies as SCJP and SCBCD.

I am planning to take up a certification in UML.

Please provide me the following info?

1. The exact title of the XML certification

2. Time taken to complete the certification

3. Books and resources for the certification.

4. The level of difficulty to take up the exam with the above experience

Thanks,
Boon

Instead of posting a request like this, why don't you first go to www.google.com and try to find the information yourself?

Hi

There are two certifications that I know about in UML

These are

1) IBM UML certification
2) OMG UML certifications

Both this data can be found from google

I am planning on doing one of them.

Have to decide which and why

This probably more belongs in Product and Other Certifications anyway. But... just a note. IBM's UML "Certification" (exam 486) is not a stand-alone certification - it's an exam that's part of several certifications within IBM's program. You don't get a title or any certificate for completing the exam.

Just to clear that up before anyone gets the wrong idea.

IBM Test 486: Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with UML Test is part of IBM Certified Enterprise Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0
This certification will be withdrawn December 31, 2006.

I don't know if that implies that test 486 will be retired.

The replacement certification IBM Certified Advanced Application Developer - Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software V6.0 no longer has a OOAD/UML component.

It was mentioned that IBM has some OOAD certifications for Rational which however are limited to IBM Business Partners, IBM Educational Partners and IBM employees.

Which UML certification to take
