Both are facades - interfaces to more functionality. The session facade is for session beans and the message facade is for message driven beans.

Just don't assume that the Session/Message Facade pattern is a special case of the Facade pattern.

"Session Facade" and "Message Facade" are names for patterns which only apply to Enterprise Java.

"Facade" is a general design pattern with somewhat different intent, motivation, applicability, and consequences. So the Session/Message Facade patterns have much less in common with the Facade pattern than the name may imply.

I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
