Printing to a Printer

I was wondering if anyone had some sort of solution to the problem Im having. Im running a CGI/Perl Script on a Windows NT Server (and hopefully later on Unix) that generates HTML pages from results obtained from the server. Currently, the application is being used 'locally' but I hope to put it on the web at some later point. I was hoping to allow the user (client-side) to print to his/her default local printer some of the information retrieved from one of the searches (or rather the contents of a shopping cart). Ive thought of using a Javascript but it doesnt seem too useful in dealing with anything involving file maintenance or printer interaction . I also considered using Java applets but due to Java's "Sandbox" I wouldn't be able to create a Print Job or even create files (Im assuming there is no way around this IO SecurityManager :confused .
Before any suggestions are made, I should point out that simply printing a print version of the data to the screen and then clicking the Print button (or getting Javascript to use the print() method) is right now undesirable. I wanted the ability to allow the user to simply click a Print Button and the information would be send automatically. The reason is that I need to sent certain escape sequences to the printer Im using in order for the printer to print right (Im using a TM-U950/U950P printer if that helps anyone). Id greatly appreciate any input (whether it be round about or not) that anyone could give.
