Problems with eclipse Jalopy plug-in

I recently started using the Jalopy plug-in for eclipse, and am having a few problems. Most things are working OK, but there are some exceptions:
  • Code Inspector: I've enabled Code Inspector and checked all the checkboxes for tips. But I have yet to see any effect, even when I intentionallly violate these rules.
  • Messages: even with everyting in Jalopy Settings -> Meassages set to DEBUG (or any other setting), I never see any messages. Where should they appear?
  • Environment: Clicking on Jalopy Settings -> Printer -> Environment -> User -> Add has no effect. Is this supposed to do something?
  • Preview Screen: works fine initially, but after awhile it just stops responding to changes in the settings. Closing Jalopy Settings and reopening doesn't fix it; I need to close & restart Eclipse itself. Kind of annoying...

  • Any info on any of these problems would be appreciated. Do these features work better for others here? I'm using Eclipse 2.1.1. (I know 2.1.2 is now out, but it takes awhile to download, and last time I tried the file was corrupted. Will keep at it though...) Plugin version is 0.2.6; Jalopy version is 1.0.b10. I see from the Jalopy user mailing list archives that the eclipse plug-in may not be good past Eclipse 2.0 - can anyone here report better results than I've gotten? Thanks...

Unfortunately my experiences have been largely similar. However, I've been frustrated mostly with line wrapping.

Lasse , I like your Blog and BlogRoll links.
I'd put some of them on mine too if I had one.
Jim, seems I'm not the only one who thought Jalopy was an old car.
    Jalopy

So, I posted this yesterday without realizing that there was going to be a promo here the next day. So, to take advantage of the extra eyeballs today - has anyone here had better luck with the above problems? Alternately, have you had better luck with either (a) Jalopy outside Eclipse, or (b) some other formatting tool inside Eclipse?
I may just have to look into this plug-in development thing myself to see if I can't make a few improvements, assuming that the problems I've found don't have some simpler slution. I wonder if there's a good book out there I might benefit from reading?
