Client is a New York City based specialized turn key consulting company with a specific vertical focus in the financial services industries.
The company currently has positions for technical resources for a client in Houston, Texas with minimum 4 years experience with Java and J2EE.
The positions involve building financial ecommerce applications and/or multi-tier architectures to be deployed on corporate intranets.
Looking for Heavy Java/J2ee Developer.
Good financial background.
The first 6-8 weeks will be located in New York. Public housing will be provided in NYC. Once completed position will be permanent in Houston.
The project is a rare opportunity to be part of a team in a large strategic re-engineering exercise of the credit risk application domain.
The primary role will be to take responsibility for the implementation of the logical information architecture and data warehouse design into their physical form. The role also encompasses the extension of the data architecture into the application domain.
Experience with either Solaris 2.x or Windows NT 4.x required.
Experience with both Solaris 2.x and Windows NT 4.x preferred.
At least 4 years experience with Java (JDK 1.x-2.x) required.
Experience with Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) required.
Strong server programming abilities required. Experience with Java subsystems such as the Java threads package, the Java Native Interface (JNI), and Java Plug-in 1.x required.
Working knowledge of the Java Virtual Machine required.
Experience with either Oracle7.x-8.x or Sybase 11.x required.
Experience with Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) drivers such as BEA/WebLogic JDBC or Sybase jConnect required.
Experience with Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) using a production EJB server such as BEA WebLogic Server or IBM WebSphere required.
Experience with multi-tier architecture and production Internet architectures required.
Advanced knowledge of distributed computing using either the Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) or Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) technologies such as IONA OrbixWeb or equivalent required.
Experience with Netscape Navigator 4.x or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x required.
Experience with Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) required. Experience with Java Server Pages (JSP) required.
Experience with Java Servlets required.
Experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML) required.
Experience with active fail-over Internet architectures preferred.
