Hi there:
Anyone here uses Eclipse on Suse professional 9.2? I always get some kind of exceptions outside the VM when I start it. And it shuts down right after the splash screen shows up. Does it mean it has nothing to do with Eclipse or the JRE? Are there bugs in Suse 9.2? Anyone has had the same experience? I had to revert to Suse 9.0 in order to use Eclipse. Thanks.

I'm using eclipse on suse 9.2 and it works with no problems. At begining i had some problems, but after i uninstalled "gtk-qt-engine" (I'm using kde and not gnome as my graphical desktop environment) those problems disappeared.

I also use Eclipse and SuSE 9 - works fine. Yes there have been bugs in previous SuSE versions, but they do get fixed as it is open source. Of course version 9 will contain some bugs, but then all software does....

Well, it's been a bug in the gtk-qt engine. Looks like it's already fixed in CVS: http://pdx.freedesktop.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/gtk-qt/gtk-qt-engine/src/qt_qt_wrapper.cpp?rev=1.52&view=log

I hope SuSE will release it as an official patch soon.

Thanks. I just found out about the patch before coming here and was going to post that it was out. Looks I am too late
