The one thing that's always driven me crazy with Eclipse, is that you're forced to compile the entire project, rather than just a single class. At least, I've never found a way to compile a single class.

Is my observation correct, or is there a work around?

I think if you turn off 'build automatically' you can create a 'working set' that contains only one class and build that, I'm not sure why, but I think it could be done.

If you save a java source just that source will be compiled.
A Java compile automatically compiles any uncompiled dependencies as well of course, in order to resolve what needs resolving.

Only when you do a rebuild will the entire project (and projects it depends on if needed) get compiled.

Thanks... not sure why I never noticed that just saving a source compiles it.
