Job Overview
Be an integral part of a dynamic core of Java developers advancing and supporting the leading mid-market J2EE e-commerce solution available, MerchantSpace Commerce. You will be a Senior Software Developer working within the R&D team and Professional Services team for a global client base.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for advanced software development and documentation tasks as part of the e-commerce Research & Development team. You will be responsible for writing and testing application code, and integrating it with the current build. As part of the Professional Services team, you will also take on a consulting role within various client engagments. Travel may be required on occassion.
Skills and Abilities
- Java / J2EE web application development (JSP and/or Servlets, EJB, XML)
- multiple databases (SQL, DB2, mySQL, Oracle etc.)
- multiple web server environments (Microsoft IIS, Apache, Solaris, etc.)
- object-oriented programming
- design patterns
- multiple Java application servers (Tomcat, Resin, Jetty, Weblogic, WebSphere, etc.)
- fluent in English
Optional Skills and Abilities
The following skills are not required, but will be considered an asset to your application:
- Caucho Resin, JBoss, and Jetty
- Jakarta Struts
- Castor or JDO
- Ant
- JUnit
- HttpUnit
- NetBeans IDE
- Experience implementing Java e-commerce applications
- Experience working in a source protection and build environment
- Experience interfacing and communicating directly with clients
- multi-lingual
Education and Training
- 4 year degree in Computer Science or similar college diploma
- Education must have involved Java / J2EE and object oriented programming

Hi ,
I am a sun certified architect (though I am waiting for my results not expecting to fail ) and developer , immigrating to canada in the 1st week of feb 2004 , my app server experience has been limited to Tomcat and websphere version 3.5/4/5 . I have done a complete implementation of CA's Jasmine ii portal . very comfortable coding , designing & requirement gathering .

I have been with the same group at american express so I do not have the breath of tool and app server experience does that matter ??
