I have a Java app written in 2000 which I've imported as a new project into the Netbeans IDE (It consists of several .java files). I can build and run it within the IDE OK, I get a .jar file in the dist sudirectory OK, but when I try to run the JAR file Outside the IDE, I get the following message from the JVM
'Failed to load the Main-Class manifest from C:\....\Myapp.jar'

When I set up the project, I set the Main class as Myapp.

I'm obviously mising something here...but what?

Found the solution! The IDE was not building the Manifest file correctky, when I edited it manually to add the Main_Class: Myapp and rebuilt the project I can run the App as a free standing application.

I hope this is of use to other newbies.
