I'm looking for a strong Java Technical Architect, very senior level person. EJB, J2EE, RMI, XML, JDBC, web technologies such as JSPservlets and Apache Tomcat for a 2-5 year contract in the Chicago Suburbs. Need to have: *Knowledge of enterprise applications--inside and out *Ability to diagram what they are talking about *Knowledge of software methodologies (ie: Waterfall, RUP (Rational Unified Process)). *This person will have to have a strong personality to "hold their own" with high level architects from IBM Position Requirements/Skills: � A minimum of 5 years of object-oriented software development. � Experience writing custom Swing components and extending Swing components. � Requires the following technical skills: EJB, J2EE, RMI, XML, JDBC, web technologies such as JSP servlets and Apache Tomcat. � Demonstrated ability to solve moderate to complex application problems independently. � Proven technical leadership skills in analysis and design for complex systems. � Ability to work with both internal and external customers and meet project deadlines. � Effective written and verbal communication skills. � Prior exposure to retail systems and use or knowledge of Association of Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) preferred. � BS in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience.
