I may be wrong, but there seems to be an order of magnitude fewer posts on TeamCity than on Idea.

What does this mean?

Are Ranch Hands less interested in Testing and Build than in cutting code?

Or are there more individual developers and fewer team members (although I don't think you need to be in a team to benefit from TeamCity)?

Or is it a matter of the promo prize being used at home, and we consider Continous Integration a fine thing in a work environment but too much effort at home?

Kirill,

If it's not commercially sensitive, what's the ratio of sales of Idea to TeamCity (maybe adjusted to the same period in each's lifecyle)?

Chris,

TeamCity is really new product with first release in this year. IDEA is a well-known commercial IDE for more than 5 years. Guess which one is sold better

Hi Kirill,

Well, thats why I said

maybe adjusted to the same period in each's lifecyle

After a bit more looking there is a dedicated forum called
"Ant, Maven and Other Build Tools "

https://coderanch.com/forums/f-67/tools

which shows a lot less activity than the IDE one, so I guess that answers my question.

I was just a little surprised at the disparity is all.

Maybe I have a skewed view after reading Pragmatic Project Automation, but I think Continuous Integration deserves more interest.

Anyway, I wish TeamCity as much (or more) success as Idea, and if my bosses spring for the licenses I look forward to using it.

Thanks
Chris
