soft imported project (Eclipse)

I'm developing my own plug-in for Eclipse which generates project directory structure with all of the necessary files. At the end I would like to import the generated project into Package Explorer (physically the project is already in the user workspace directory). How can I implement that in my plug-in code?

Thanks in advance.
