I think this question might do not make sense but just to be fully convinced I want to ask if somebody has managed to install IntelliJ Idea on Sun Solaris platform ? JetBrains (vendor of IntelliJ) does not support officially Solaris platform but might be there are some solutions.

I kindly ask to excuse me for this silly question but I just have a hope that it is still possible to use IntelliJ on Solaris.

Good luck for yourself.

Yes, it should be possible to take the Linux version and get it to run on Solaris. Look in the "bin" directory at the scripts that run it, and the files used to configure them.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
