This week's book giveaway is in the Testing forum. We're giving away four copies of Practical Unit Testing with TestNG and Mockito and have Tomek Kaczanowski on-line! See this thread for details.
The navigation tree has disappeared from my forums summary page since couple of days ago. The page I am referring to is: http://www.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true The only way I could go to a forum right now is to do a search on a general word like "java", click on a particular forum> click on topic of search result> then click back to that forum where I wanted to go. Obviously, this is ridiculous but it's my only option for now. Please help me restore my sanity, er... my forums summary page with the navigation tree. I'd appreciate your help. ------------------ ~James Baud He who asks, is a fool for five minutes; but, he who does not ask, remains a fool forever. (Chinese proverb)

James - you are not the only one. I haven't been able to see the topics listing since yesterday. I do see where people are addng new posts, altho the volume doesn't seem to be as high as normal. So I am not sure if it is a general outage, or if it is isolated to just a few people. (Maybe we're the only two!) The Ranch also seems to be working more slowly than usual.

You don't by chance use timehost.net as a host do you. I do and they moved one of my sites yesterday and I lost all my scripts, programming, databases, etc.... ugh. They upgraded my php from 4.04 to 3.0.16...??? (just venting) I hope your archives are safe. fraternally Craig

Javaranch is hosted by ejip.net, they've been working on the problem ... things are looking a lot better now than they were, just a few more things to fix.

In fairness to ejip, we don't yet know just what the cause was; it might've been something we did. But it happened right after they did some upgrades, so I'm inclined to blame them. They're pretty responsive to our needs most of the time though, so I wouldn't want to malign them too much over the whole thing. Especially if it turns out to be our fault.

So true. The world would be a lonely place without JavaRanch..... And I don't mean just this forum.
