I am new to both the Lomboz and ANT. I read the introduction paragraph to the Lomboz: "build, test and deploy using J2EE based 100% Java Application Servers."

Is the Lomboz a substitute for the ANT or Maven?

Lomboz is the plug-in for Eclipse. It gives J2EE development environment(like MyEclipse). Don't confuse with Ant. It is open source also.
Ant is the build tool.
