Hi

I am a beginner in using ANT, i tried writing a simple java file and a build file with just one target of compiling the java file.

The doubt is that where should i save the java source file, the build file and where the class files will be generated. ANT is installed in C drive.

Thanks
Geetu

Looking at the Example build file in the ant manual, a simple setup (looking at their compile target and the properties used):
/someProjectName/src
/someProjectName/build

A directory layout that seems to have gained popularity is illustrated in the
Maven Directory Layout where src has test and main subdirectories. Classes are compiled into target/classes within the project directory.

Is that the kind of answer you were looking for?
