CVS Task in Ant

I am attempting to check out a package from CVS (named "cvsPackage" to dest "destDir"). I am using the following task:
<cvs package="cvsPackage" dest="destDir" />
I am getting the following error message:
[cvs] Caught exception: CreateProcess: cvs checkout cvsPackage error=2

I downloaded a version of CVS (and feel that it is being recognized because when I type "cvs --help" I get the list of help items) I have added the location of the cvs.exe to my Path System variable, which I hoped would resolve this error, but no luck.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to JavaRanch!

Do you have your CVSROOT set as an environment variable? If not, you need to add it as an attribute to the task.
