I have installed Sun application Server on (F:\Sun\AppServer) and the J2EE tutorial on (F:\j2eetutorial14) in Windows XP with default settings.

I have also added the paths to file at (F:\j2eetutorial14\examples\common) as follows:

However, once I execute (asant build) command from the home directory of hello1 i.e.(F:\j2eetutorial14\examples\web\hello1) in command windows, it gives following message:
Buildfile: build.xml

F:\j2eetutorial14\examples\common\targets.xml:10: The j2ee.home property is not
properly set in <INSTALL>/j2eetutorial14/examples/common/

Set the j2ee.home property to the location of your Application Server installation.

On Windows, you must escape any backslashes in the j2ee.home property with anoth
er backslash or use forward slashes as a path separator. So, if your Application
Server installation is C:\Sun\AppServer, you must set j2ee.home as follows:

j2ee.home = C:\\Sun\\AppServer

j2ee.home is currently set to:

I am not able to figure it out that what is wrong?
Any hint? thanks

I had a similar problem and I reinstalled the app server under c:\appsrvr
and everything looks good, please try

The limitation is in Win2K. Win2K only allows 256 characters in the command input line.
