How about this: in your file explorer right-click the file that you want to copy, in the drop down menu pick the option copy, now look for the folder into which you want to copy the file, open it, in the folder are right-click with your mouse, and choose the paste option.
Now, seriously. Let me see if I am getting this. You want to use ant to copy the file, but you do not want to invoke the ant command. At the same time, you do not want to use Java at all.
hey i didn't mean that i won't use ant command that is the need only what i said is i don't want it to be done by directly or by using java code(means FileInput & FileOutput Streamsin a java class file) but i want it to be done only by the ant command .
I'm not sure what you mean by "not using Ant directly". Have you read through the Copy chapter of the Ant manual? It explains the in detail how to copy files using Ant. [ July 30, 2006: Message edited by: Ulf Dittmer ]

thanks ulf can you help me in ant <copydir is a deprecated task in version no. 1.6.5 so instead of copydir what should we use and what are the attributes of it?
