Is anyone using Java on Digital Unix (now Compaq Tru64 Unix)?
javac is slooow, as it is on all platforms, compared to native compilers, but that's about all there is for DUnix(except for TowerJ, $5000 per seat, yeah right). Know of any others?
IBM's "jikes" has gone open source (C code), but based on my porting efforts so far, it's a long way from working on DUnix. I think it's because it was coded assuming a 32-bit machine, whereas DUnix is 64-bit.
If there was some interest in a fast, free compiler for DUnix, I might continue my porting. Cast your vote here!
Know of any other forums/newsgroups where this might be a good question to ask?
